Wednesday evening meeting during Weymouth Speedweek

Weymouth Speedweek for 2024 is from 12 to 18 October and once again the AYRS will hold a technical discussion meeting on the Wednesday evening of the week.  Weymouth Speedweek is not an AYRS event but it is an event with which the AYRS has a long association.  Further information about Weymouth Speedweek is at Speedweek website.

Although Weymouth Speedweek is now primarily an event for board sailors, other types of sailing boat are still very welcome to attend and will compete for separate prizes to the board sailors.   Spectators are also welcome, free of charge. Depending on weather conditions, it is an opportunity to see some skilled sailing, including sailing by some of the top professional board sailors.

Our meetings on Wednesday evenings of Speedweek provide an opportunity for Speedweek competors and others to give short presentations, in recent years we have had a pretty full program for the evening.  The meeting is attended by AYRS members, Speedweek competitors and spectators and members of local sailing clubs.

This meeting will almost certainly be at the same venue as last year, that being Weymouth Sailing Club which is at the end of the Weymouth west harbour quayside.  If we do need to change to a different venue that will be announced on this webpage.
