All-day Meeting at Mytchett, Surrey

We meet at the Basingstoke Canal Centre (BCC), a few minutes from M3 junction 4, postcode GU16 6DD. We have the use of the room from 10am to 5pm but need to allow for tidying and running the vacuum cleaner over the floor at the end. We call this an all-day meeting but feel free to come and leave as you wish, we aim to have the kettle on for those arriving from around 10:15.

The meeting will include a mixture of informal discussion and prepared presentations.  Do bring along pictures, plans and hardware associated with your boating activities and projects. It is also possible to launch small craft onto the canal and I believe that one member is aiming to demonstrate a novel design of sailing canoe afloat at our BCC meeting this year.  There is a slipway at the BCC which is suitable for light craft but the slipway ends in a step down just at the water’s edge so it is not suitable for launching boats that need a trailer to be partially immersed for launching.

For these meetings most of us take lunch in the BCC on-site café. We accept donations, say £5, to contribute to light refreshments and room hire.
