Zoom Meeting – Sharing photos of sailing in 2022

The AYRS Zoom meetings held during the covid ‘lockdowns’ were popular, and I think appreciated,  but interest dwindled for the last few meetings held in spring of 2022.  It did not seem worthwhile holding these meetings over the summer of 2022 but we have now decided to start them again on a trial basis for the first three months of 2023.  On-line meetings are the only way for many of the geographically spread AYRS membership to ever ‘meet’.

We will not attempt to provide a prepared presentation for each of these meetings, although if anyone would like to offer a presentation on a particular boating topic do let us know (contact chairman@ayrs.org).  Rather, we envisage most of these meetings to be informal, although perhaps with a stated theme to focus on.  We might also start the meetings with brief announcements and a five to ten minute summary of what has been happening in the world of sailing and if that starts some discussion that is fine.

For this first meeting I suggest the theme can be members sailing pictures from 2022, so if you have ‘holiday snaps’ from your cruising or racing last season do share them using the Zoom ‘screenshare’ facility.   The link to join this meeting is:

The passcode for the meeting is ayrs and the Meeting ID is 253 674 0617 but I don’t think you will need that if you join through the link.  We will open the link at about 19:15 London time, for a meeting start at 19:30,  closing the meeting at around 20:30.  We will not mind if you choose to leave early.

I am not sure which day of the week will best suit our members, so I have scheduled this meeting for a Tuesday, the February meeting for a Wednesday and the March meeting for a Monday, that way those who have recuring events on a particular day of the week will be able to come to at least some meetings.
